Mycoscience and other publications

We publish two academic journals.

Mycoscience

Mycoscience is the official English journal of the Mycological Society of Japan and is issued bimonthly. Both members and non-members of the Mycological Society of Japan are encouraged to submit manuscripts for publication in the journal. Mycoscience publishes original research articles (full papers, short communications, and notes) and reviews on various aspects of fungi including yeasts and other organisms that traditionally have been studied by mycologists. The research aspects covered by Mycoscience extend from such purely scientific interests as systematics (taxonomy by traditional methods and systematics by molecular methods), evolution, phylogeny, morphology, ecology, physiology, biochemistry, genetics, and molecular biology, to such agricultural, medical, and industrial applications as pathology (human, animal, and plant), pharmaceuticals, food processing, and other biotechnologies. Also included are new and improved applications of well-established mycological techniques and methods.

For continuous improvement of the journal quality, all the articles are peer-reviewed by anonymous reviewers and editor in chief. We use electrical submission system (Editorial Manager System customized for Mycoscience). Once received, the articles will be published immediately online.

Mycoscience is listed in Web of Science, and has an impact factor of:
1.4 (for 2022)

Japanese Journal of Mycology (formerly "Nipponkingakkaikaiho")

Japanese Journal of Mycology is also an official Journal of the Mycological Society of Japan and is issued twice a year. Only member of MSJ can submit to this journal. It is mainly aiming to collect research papers in Japanese, but new occurrence report of fungi in Japan can be published exceptionally in English. If a MSJ member who cannot read Japanese wants to submit to this journal, please contact to <secretary-general(at mark)mycology-jp.org>.

Newsletters are published 4 time a year, and provides various news on our activity in Japanese.
